Overview
Very often the focus of a printer is it's print speed. But the
ability to print paper fast is nothing if it is unable to quickly process the
data as well. The TSP100 has (like many Star printers before) been designed
with such advanced processing power that a new way of measuring and comparing
"throughput" is now required. This new measurement is called RPM (Receipts per
minute) which measures the time taken to issue the receipt from the moment the
software triggers it to when it is fully printed. This amazing processing power
means that users are no longer limited to basic receipts with old fashioned
resident fonts. With the TSP100 futurePRNT it is possible to produce modern
receipts with True Type fonts and graphics in the same amount of time.
The table below shows how the TSP100 futurePRNT compares to
other Star printers and a leading competitor when printing using both Resident
and True Type fonts.
